People have had their session ID's hijacked and had all their stuff sold + gold mailed to the hacker who did it. Don't do public games according to Bliz.

    [RPS source]

[Blizzard's frankly useless response] (this hack still happens even with authenticator)

[blizzard update] (The people posting on it seem to be putting more thought into it then Bliz... No surprise)

I played like 20 minutes of Public then switched to solo. Fuck people that don't go at your pace!

I'm thinking their accounts are still being hacked from stupidity.

*shrugs* I didn't read far into it. I don't play public games, I have an authenticator, I should be OK.

I think this must be real. I just had gold stolen from my account. A battle.net account named SCRUFFY#1846 appeared on my friend list without me knowing and by looking at their character profile they're level 4 and have played for 16 hours which seems a bit suspicious.
I don't really know what to do about it though. :(

If you don't have Diablo3 you wont have your Diablo3 account hacked.

If you don't have Diablo 3 then you are nothing but a loser who can't play a real mans game.

I'm pretty sure authenticators aren't available in the UK.

You don't need a physical authenticator (although the Diablo one does look cool). You can get a mobile one that runs as an app on your smartphone and generates a key every 30 seconds or so. Or you can use the Dial-in authenticator (you call a toll-free phone number. How 20th century).

I don't and never had an issue. If your IP Changes or even using another PC I assume computer name or some other ID it grabs it will force you to enter it again.

That all good if you own a Smartphone, but I have set up the Battle.net SMS Protect on my account.

Also I'm not going to Pay $20.68 for shiping to my house for a $6.50 Battle.net Authenticator.

Also this maybe of some help too, http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/6020037/Battlenet_and_Diablo_III_Account_Security-5_25_2012#blog

If you don't own a smartphone in 2012 then you might want to consider a bridge and rush hour traffic :p
