I was curious; do ALL the railroads have to be far underground? I'd like to build some overland and/or oversea railways (in the form of via/aquaducts) so people can,
while riding the minecart, enjoy the scenery. Would it be allowed to have a part of the railway on a different level?

I think the main rail going from spawn to the border is all underground, but if someone makes a run off, I'm sure you can make it go above land. :)

The reason I made it so deep is so the main tracks don't go though someone's basement on the way to the border. I don't mind above ground rails as long as you don't leave it unrealistically floating or across someone's land without their consent.

yeah I think underground is good to get to certain stations and from there you can take stations above or more underground.. I like to see almost a hub shoot main lines likee 4-5 tracks then they go to more hubs till it's like a borg hub complex whatever thing!

As long as you don't make it look bad and it's still efficient, you can make the rails go wherever you want provided it doesn't cut across someone's land that doesn't want it there.

However many railways you think will be needed to get to your place, depending on how popular it is. And yes there has to be a space in between each rail, so that they don't boost each other (because if they do it too much the momentum variable will overflow and they'll just stop).

Remember you can't do it yet though.

historically there were main lines and then Short Lines. so say there was a Main Line, Godcraft Central Railway (GCR) and it went north along the main roads tot he area Wensleydale. We could have a statiotn here. And then Wensleydale could create the Wensleydale Western line and that could be custom. not directly conencted to the GCR but maybe a terminal int hat station.

is it going to be like, bring your own cart? or will there be carts constantly going along the tracks?

Oh wow, nice find. That's actually very similar to mine. Main difference is that a cart won't be waiting on the track, you have to press a button to call a cart to the track, where it'll stop on a stone pressure plate (and from there basically function the same way as his). Cart holding system will be the same, except a cart is dispensed from the holding system after you press a button to call a cart. The same button will also change the track coming off of the dispenser to direct the cart to the platform that it was called to. The boosters with the stone pressure plates will also be the same, in order to catch carts that have lost their player. These run-away carts will be returned on a line underneath the normal tunnel back to their holding system (which is aptly named the "pez dispenser").

I'd imagine branches from the main NSEW lines would be allowed to go up so the stations for those towns wouldn't need to be a long-ass walk down.
